Quartz Crystal varieties
Common colored varieties include citrine, rose quartz, amethyst, smoky quartz, milky quartz, and others.

The word “quartz” is derived from the German word “Quarz”, which had the same form in the first half of the 14th century in Middle High Germany and East Central Germany and which came from the Polish dialect term kwardy, which corresponds to the Czech term tvrdý (“hard”).

The Ancient Greeks referred to quartz as κρύσταλλος (krustallos) derived from the Ancient Greek κρύος (kruos) meaning “icy cold”, because some philosophers (including Theophrastus) apparently believed the mineral to be a form of supercooled ice. Today, the term rock crystal is sometimes used as an alternative name for the purest form of quartz.

There are ten minerals in Mohs scale classified by their hardness, and here is their list (from low to high):
1. Talc
2. Gypsum
3. Calcite
4. Fluorite
5. Apatite
6. Orthoclase
7. Quartz
8. Topaz
9. Corundum
10. Diamond.

Metaphysical properties

Element: Spirit
Chakras: 7th (Crown)

Even though these crystals may be quite common, many of these stones have a very high vibration.
They resonate strongly within the eighth chakra, commonly known as the Soul Star Chakra, and within the Higher Transpersonal Chakras.
Clear quartz crystals have an incredibly long history of use in all sorts of fields.
They are one of the most famous crystals in the world and have been significant to cultures on every continent, as well as being the base for many other crystals, including extremely precious ones like amethyst.
While quartz crystals have been used for thousands of purposes throughout history, they have an especially long history as healing stones.
They are said to be used for healing any condition and are known for their purifying effects.
Quartz crystals are known as “master healing crystals”, crystals that can be used to heal any condition that they are needed for.
Because of their unique power to take on the energy of any situation (like their color, white, which contains all other colors), quartz crystals are one of the single most beneficial stones that you can introduce into your life for purposes of healing.

Recommended cleansing methods

– Smudging or Incense Sticks – by placing the crystal where the smoke can cleanse the stored energies, negative energies, programs that may have been acquired by the stone.
– Crystal Druse, bed, Geode or Cluster – by placing the crystal on them for 24-48 hours.
– Water – If you are near to a natural running river, you can place the crystal in an open mesh bag and hold it for a short time in the river. You can also use running water in your home.
– Reiki Energy – If you are a Reiki practitioner, you can use Reiki for cleansing your crystal.

– Visualization – You can use visualization or ‘thought energy’ to cleanse your crystal.

Not recommended cleansing methods

– Salt – Crystals (like humans) store high amounts of water, and exposing them to salt dehydrates them, and they may eventually break.
– Sunlight – Direct sunlight is affecting the Amethyst in the means of fading its color. Therefore, it is not recommended to leave it in direct sunlight for long periods of time.
